Electromyography-based evaluation of extensor pollicis longus muscle activities in healthy volunteers fitted with a rubber band traction apparatus

 【概要】The objective of this study was to investigate the influence of forearm, hand and thumb positions on electromyography (EMG) activity of the abductor pollicis longus (APL) and the extensor carpi ulnaris (ECU) muscles.EMG activity of the right hand of 17 subjects was scaled relative to the mean EMG value at maximum voluntary isometric contraction to compare relative muscle activity in the tests. The results show that the position of the forearm does influence activity of the APL, but not of the ECU.

TGF-B receptor inhibitors affect the proliferation of chronic obstructive pulmonary fibroblasts by regulating the expression of growth factors

 【概要】Twenty-four healthy male SD rats were randomly divided into a normal group, a model group, and a TGF-β receptor inhibitor group, with 8 rats in each group. Compared with the model group, the bronchociliary structure of the TGF-β receptor inhibitor group was complete, and the infiltration of inflammatory cells in the alveoli was slightly relieved. TGF-β receptor inhibitors can significantly inhibit the proliferation and promote the apoptosis of fibroblasts in COPD rats. The mechanism may be related to the regulation of TGF-β1, bFGF, and other growth factors.

The effect of physiotherapy in rotator cuff injury patients with platelet-rich plasma: study protocol of a non-randomized controlled trial

 【概要】The study aims to identify whether Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) combined with early physiotherapy has an advantage over PRP alone for rotator cuff injury patients, regarding pain release, function score, tear size, and quality of life improvement. Our findings will give information on the effects of PRP and physiotherapy on rotator cuff injuries. Physiotherapy might be added to improve the effects of PRP in patients with rotator cuff injuries.

Development of FGF-2-loaded electrospun waterborne polyurethane fibrous membranes for bone regeneration

 【概要】Guided bone regeneration (GBR) membrane has been used to improve functional outcomes for periodontal regeneration. However, few studies have focused on the biomimetic membrane mimicking the vascularization of the periodontal membrane. This study aimed to fabricate waterborne polyurethane (WPU) fibrous membranes loaded fibroblast growth factor-2 via emulsion electrospinning. In our study, there a biodegradable WPU was synthesized by using lysine and dimethylpropionic acid as chain extenders according to the rule of green chemical synthesis technology. The fiber scaffold loaded has the potential to be used as a functional GBR membrane to promote the formation of extraosseous blood vessels during periodontal repairing.

The top 100 highly cited articles on osteoporosis from 1990 to 2019: a bibliometric and visualized analysis.

 【概要】Research on osteoporosis is a well-developed and promising research field. The top 100 literature included 73 articles and 27 reviews. The average citation number was 747. Researchers and institutions from the USA, the UK, and France contributed the most to the top high-cited articles.Our data were obtained from the WoS Core Collection on Jan 10, 2020. A total of 12,863 references were obtained. The top 100 highly cited literature included 73 articles and 27 reviews.

Research trends in osteoporosis in Asian countries and regions in the last 20 years

 【概要】Asian countries have made great progress in the osteoporosis research over the past 20 years. Mainland China has a significant increase in the number of articles. The scientific influence of Japan ranked by citations was leading in Asia. Indian researchers published fewer articles on osteoporosis, but the overall citation was quite well.

Effects of steroidal saponins extract from Ophiopogon japonicus root ameliorates doxorubicin-induced chronic heart failure by inhibiting oxidative stress and inflammatory response

 【概要】This study evaluates the cardioprotective effects of steroidal saponins extract from Ophiopogon japonicus (SOJ) root against doxorubicin-induced chronic heart failure (CHF) through the amelioration of oxidative stress and inflammation.A Sprague-Dawley rat model of CHF was established by intraperitoneally injected with DOX. All rats were randomly divided into four groups. After six weeks administration, biometric and echocardiography were measured. The levels of biochemical parameters were measured using commercial kits.
